Job description

Professor Peter Newell is seeking a part-time Communications Officer to work on a UKRI Frontier Research Grant (formerly an ERC Advanced Grant) looking at the political dynamics of supply-side climate policies.

These are policies being adopted to limit the production and supply of fossil fuels such as bans, moratoria, phase-out policies and subsidy removals that are being adopted by a growing number of countries around the world. The project seeks to understand where these policies are being adopted, how and by whom and what can be done internationally to support their wider adoption.

Key responsibilities include:

  • to build and maintain a website for the project
  • help with geo-spatial visualisation of the database findings
  • help with the creation, communication and dissemination of non-research outputs such as podcasts, blogs and opinions pieces.

The amount of time the Communications Officer spends on the project will increase in the last 2 years of the project, but be reduced in years 2 and 3 once the project has been launched, so that 0.2 FTE is an average across the 5 years.
