Contract: Fixed term for two years
Salary: starting at £26,341 and rising to £30,497 per annum

The Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) is recruiting a Communications and Engagement Officer, to contribute to projects within the Sussex Energy Group (SEG).
The role involves working with SEG’s Directors and project Principal Investigators to develop and implement communication and engagement plans for the projects. You will also lead the organisation of key SEG events, ranging from project workshops to flagship keynote presentations. Working with the University’s central communications team, you will find opportunities to raise the public profile of SEG and monitor the media impact of the group’s activities.
You should have excellent written and oral communication and ICT skills, including maintaining and updating websites, communicating using social media platforms and producing e-newsletters and blogs. Experience of organising events and workshops is essential. You must be able to communicate confidently and effectively with a wide range of people, and to work to deadlines in a calm and professional manner. You will be flexible, able to prioritise work systematically and an enthusiastic and supportive team player.
