Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS). The focus for the role will be Lead for Assessment. It is open to suitably-qualified specialists at consultant/ clinical senior lecturer level who have a specific interest in medical education and an established academic track record in this area.
The post is offered in association with Brighton and Sussex University Hospital Trust (BSHUT) where the successful applicant will hold an honorary consultant contract.
The successful applicant will be an accredited physician and will have significant evidence of recent expertise in medical education. Ideally, they will have experience within the following range of activities: curriculum design, assessment including admissions, use of portfolios in medical education, electronic learning, and inter-professional learning.
The successful candidate is also likely to have evidence of research output in the field of medical education, or other relevant area, with an expectation that this will lead to external grant income. They will actively collaborate in the research endeavours of BSMS.
From an academic perspective, this post will be based in the Department of Medical Education at BSMS. The ongoing development of the school, undergraduate curriculum and assessment processes requires appropriately qualified clinical academic staff to contribute to maintaining the high educational standards of BSMS, and to further develop and innovate our courses and the student experience.
