Hours: Full time or part time hours considered up to a maximum of 36.5 hours per week. Requests for flexible working options will be considered (subject to business need). As the role includes an element of covering reception core hours will be 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

Job description

We are seeking a helpful, enthusiastic and well-organised individual to provide clerical support in the School Office, which involves dealing with enquiries from students and staff on a range of matters mainly associated with research support and postgraduate research students. Tasks will include:

  • Coordinating and entering details of research papers on Sussex Research Online
  • Collating paperwork and signatures for research grant applications
  • PhD applications and enquiries
  • Support for research seminars

Experience of working in a busy customer service environment is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Experience of data entry and information systems is also essential. The School Office is vital to the smooth-running of the School and the postholder will be expected to contribute to the high standards of service delivery.

It is normal to appoint at the first point of the salary scale
