Job description

This vacancy is only open to those currently working at the University

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Business Analyst to join our IT Services division.  This is an exciting and transformational time within IT Services as we emerge from the pandemic and we start an ambitious programme of replacing and redeveloping a significant number of major systems to meet our strategic ambitions.  You will be part of a team central in driving this process forward. 

You will have a strong analytical mindset with the ability to gather, analyse and evaluate information from a number of different sources and present this information back to relevant stakeholders to clarify understanding within the project. 

You will be responsible for gathering information from stakeholders, using a range of elicitation techniques, and for analysing and documenting complex business processes, user stories, functional and non-functional requirements.  You will provide expertise in business process mapping using BPMN and gap analysis of as-is and to-be processes to identify issues and understand potential gains; assisting in creating a business case for change, including benefits mapping and realisation. 

You will be able to understand business change requirements and address stakeholder concerns whilst being able to constructively challenge inefficient ways of working to deliver process improvements.

You will have strong skills as an effective communicator and will be able to establish excellent working relationships with our customers. 

In addition, you will have an understanding of technical principles and be able to work closely with the applications and testing teams to ensure that business requirements are met.

The role requires a highly-motivated and organised individual who has proven experience of working to deadlines.  You will have the ability to manage multiple requests concurrently, strategically prioritising your work when required.  You will enjoy working as part of a team as well as be comfortable using your own initiative to work independently.
