About the University

The role
In this exciting and challenging role, the successful applicant will lead the delivery teams to the successful completion of all programmes and projects that sit within our five strategic portfolios a) Size & Shape, b) Students & Education, c) Research & Enterprise, d) Estates and e) IT achieving full benefits realisation.   The successful postholder will assume ownership of one of the portfolios as part of this role.  

Acting as a champion of the usage of best practice programme and project management approaches you will work proactively to provide technical expertise and guidance to designated Senior Responsible Owners across the University to support them with effective decision making in their assigned programmes and projects.

This role sits within our Sussex Projects team who provide Portfolio, Programme and Project Management across the University and will report into the Director of Strategic Projects & Change.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have a strong and demonstrable background in Programme and Project delivery in complex environments and use of a range of best practice approaches.  You will have experience of successfully leading teams, developing portfolio, programme and project plans and ensuring alignment with strategy and relevant business initiatives. With strong communication and stakeholder management skills you will be able to create and maintain effective working networks and relationships with senior managers and directors throughout the University and through external groups
