Preparing to Teach - online resource
This is an online resource which is open to all at the University of Sussex. It is intended to familiarise you with the structures of Sussex and Higher Education in the UK, the role and responsibilities of Associate Tutors and Graduate Teaching Assistants (ATs and GTAs) and to help prepare you for your first and subsequent teaching sessions.
This module will probably suit you if:
- You are a PhD student thinking about applying to teach at Sussex.
- You are a PostDoc who is going to be doing some teaching (in which case you might also want to take Starting to Teach).
- You work in a support unit and will be taking on some teaching duties.
- You have been approved for teaching, but not yet allocated a specific module.
- You have been appointed to teach and want to begin training before Starting to Teach training commences.
- You are beginning your teaching in the Summer term when there is no Starting to Teach training.
To access the online course click on this Preparing to Teach link and login to Study Direct using your ITS login (as used for email etc.).
