Zoom

Zoom is the University's online meeting tool. Zoom is available through Canvas, via the universityofsussex.zoom.us website, as an app for your tablet or phone, and as a desktop application. Use Zoom for live online and blended lectures and tutorials with two way communication, screen sharing, breakout rooms and polls or for office hours.

To start recording during a session, please see Zoom guidance on Starting a Cloud Recording. Note, while screen sharing the option to record moves to the top of the screen under More > Record to the cloud.

Locating Zoom recordings

Zoom recordings are automatically copied to Panopto. The location to which the session will be copied is dependent on where you schedule the Zoom session.

  • Zoom sessions scheduled via the Zoom area of your Canvas module are copied to the Panopto recordings folder for that module
  • Zoom sessions scheduled on universityofsussex.zoom.us are copied to a Meeting recordings folder within your private My Folder on Panopto.

Recording on Zoom are removed after 30 days. Copies on Panopto remain available.
