School of Law, Politics & Sociology template

A template designed for the School of Law, Politics & Sociology

What are these templates?

These templates have been designed for the School of Law, Politics & Sociology. There are three templates.

LPS template (pages) is for teachers who want to use Canvas Pages. The Pages template removes the need for scrolling through the Canvas Units and makes the look and feel of your Canvas module more friendly.

LPS template (library reading by topics) is for teachers who have set up their library reading list by week and want a page for each weeks reading. The Library Readings template makes it easy to find the weeks readings, removes the need for scrolling through the Canvas Units and makes the look and feel of your Canvas module more friendly.

LPS template (units) is for teachers who want to use Canvas Units for navigation. It allows tutors to hide items and activities, set up time release and set up prerequisites for access.

Why does it exist?

The rationale is to provide a clear and consistent experience for students using Canvas across the range of modules in LPS and to make it simpler for staff to produce an attractive, user-friendly Canvas site for their module which includes all key information.

Key features

  • Includes key information from the module handbook in an online format

  • Design and layout adapts to suit different computers, devices and screen-sizes.

  • Clearly sign-posts key information, learning resources and activities to students
