Verification of qualifications

(2013 entry)

As noted in Offers, where applicants have applied with completed qualifications, any offer is likely to be unconditional. However, we will need to verify declared qualifications (including certain GCSEs, or equivalent, where these are a specific requirement of the programme). If you receive an unconditional offer, you will need to send formal copies of your declared results to the Admissions Office before you can register, and the University reserves the right to withdraw an offer if you cannot prove the declared qualification (with the declared grade).

For those applying while still studying, we will normally verify your main qualifications for admission as part of confirming your place (refer to above). However, if you have earlier qualifications (including certain GCSEs) that have been used for your admission to Sussex, we will need to verify these results separately and will contact you directly about this. As noted, we reserve the right to withdraw an offer if a declared qualification (or result) cannot be verified. All verification of declared qualifications should be completed by 31 August. If applicants cannot provide verification by this date, the University reserves the right to withdraw the offer.
