Interviews

(2013 entry)

Interviews are unusual at Sussex (with the exception of social work and working with children and young people and medicine, or if you are applying without formal academic qualifications). If you are asked to come for an interview, this will form part of the selection process for deciding whether or not we are able to offer you a place. Interviews normally take place between December and April, and we try to give you at least two weeks’ notice. We realise that travelling to various universities for interviews can be expensive and time consuming so we aim to keep interviewing to a minimum. But some subjects do still interview some applicants and, in a number of cases, interviews may be necessary to reach a decision on your application.

We will, however, aim to make the interview part of a structured visit to the University, and you should remember that it is a two-way process – allowing you to ask questions of us, as well as helping us to reach a decision about your application.
