Flexible English language support
Sussex is a great choice if you need help with the English language. We have excellent support programmes, which are tailored for your language level and where you can learn with other international students before starting your studies.
Study with native English speakers
Experience what it is really like to study at a UK university. Following language preparation, you can take regular academic courses, and learn alongside other UK undergraduates or visiting and exchange students.
English language courses
You can come to Sussex to improve your English language skills. These courses are taught by the Sussex Centre for Language Studies and are available throughout the year. Depending on your language level and when you wish to start your programme, you can choose from a wide range of courses, including English for Academic Purposes, Pre-Masters English and Intensive English.
