The University of Sussex has over 140 student and teaching exchange links with institutions across North America, Asia, Australia, Europe, and Central and South America. Some of these partnerships have been established for 30 or 40 years; others have been created more recently. In all cases, Sussex maintains close working relationships with its partners to ensure the student or teaching exchange experience is of a consistently high quality.
The range of our partner institutions open to each individual student will vary according to their Sussex degree programme: some of our partners accept students across the whole range of courses they offer; with others we have subject-specific exchange links. Some institutions will have fewer exchange places then others. In many cases courses are taught and assessed in English and there is no requirement for proficiency in the foreign language. However, students are strongly encouraged to build on their language skills outside the classroom, and/or by following a pre-semester language course or language modules as part of their credit-load at the host institution.
