Welcoming and supporting you

Feel at home in Brighton

We offer guaranteed housing for all new full-time, full-year research students in their first year of study and for non-EU Masters degree students registering in September who return the housing application form along with a £250 pre-payment before 1 August. The University can also offer you support and guidance if you prefer to live in the heart of Brighton. Also visit Accommodation.

Feel supported

We provide guidance on matters such as immigration, finance, careers and life in the UK. Our international student support staff can also help you learn about different cultures and experience the British way of life.

Observe your faith

Our multicultural community welcomes followers of all faiths. There is a Muslim Student Centre and mosque on campus, along with our chaplaincy catering for a range of denominations (also visit Your well-being). In Brighton & Hove, there are three mosques, a Buddhist centre, Islamic centre, four synagogues, and Greek and Coptic Orthodox churches.

Study skills support

Study Success at Sussex (S3) is designed to help you with your academic skills (eg essay writing, report writing, referencing, time management and lots more). If this is the first time you have studied in the UK, S3 will show you what to expect with video guides and tips from students and staff.
