Chancellor's Masters Scholarship application form

To be considered for the Chancellor’s Masters Scholarship, you must have submitted an application for your Masters course and completed the following form by 1 August.

You must have already applied for your Masters course before applying for this scholarship. Your application cannot be considered until you have received and accepted an offer on an eligible Masters course.

Qualifications awarded or expected

You must be the holder of a UK bachelors degree or European equivalent in order to be eligible for this scholarship.  If you have not yet graduated, you must be due to complete in 2017.  UK graduates will only be considered with a First Class degree, EU graduates must demonstrate the highest grades (see table on the CMS webpage for guidance about this)

Indicate whether your university was in the UK or EU (only holders of degrees from the UK or the rest of Europe will be considered)

Personal statement

Please provide a personal statement of no more than 3000 characters in support of your application. Your statement should include evidence of previous academic achievements, commitment to your chosen Masters course and future potential for undertaking research. You can use the same statement as submitted with your Masters application or write a new statement.  In assessing your application, selectors will pay particular attention to the following:

  • options you are planning to take on the Masters course
  • research project you intend to undertake for your Masters dissertation
  • how these elements might fit together to form the basis of further research
  • evidence of previous research work / projects etc.
  • indication of future plans once Masters course is completed
