The module builds on the language skills, structures and functions taught in Intensive A to enable you to develop to CEFR B1 level in one year. You will improve oral and written fluency, lexis and listening and reading comprehension. A thorough grounding in grammatical functions will be taught through a variety of media and topics.
Module learning outcomes
- The successful student will demonstrate knowledge of basic grammatical principles and understanding of their syntactical application in written exercises.
- S/he will demonstrate reading comprehension skills by the analysis of and response to authentic texts in the TL on social or cultural themes.
- S/he will demonstrate the incipient capacity to write discursively in the TL to satisfactory standards of accuracy and sophistication.
- So doing, s/he will demonstrate an ability to grasp certain basic theories and concepts, and to develop lines of argument.
