Your knowledge of syntax and lexis will continue to be enhanced alongside the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Practical aspects of living, studying and working abroad will be covered, including history, geography, politics, society, culture and literature.

Module learning outcomes

  • The successful student will demonstrate a good knowledge of syntax by the completion of specific grammar exercises.
  • S/he will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in the spoken language.
  • S/he will demonstrate the ability to write freely in the TL with an acceptable degree of accuracy and sophistication.
  • S/he will demonstrate a critical understanding of certain issues of contemporary significance in the relevant society, both orally and in writing.
