You examine the detailed rules of competition law and policy in the EU.
You cover the law relating to cartels, abuses of dominant position, mergers, enforcement, state aid and the application of competition law to public services and undertakings entrusted with services of general economic interest.
Module learning outcomes
- Explain and critically evaluate the competition provisions of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union
- Interpret and apply in detail rules and concepts of EU competition law to factual situations
- Demonstrate critical awareness of the economic, political and social context influencing competition law and policy
- Undertake critical and reflective independent research on a topic of current EU competition law controversy
