The aim of this module is to study research papers and postgraduate textbooks to introduce you to research topics in mathematics above MSc level and to bring you to the forefront of today's research in mathematics. This is an adaptable course, which can be tailored to your specific interests. There will be no fixed syllabus, but a set of options available to you. The major options available initially will be in the areas on numerical analysis and scientific computing; analysis of partial differential equations; and mathematics applied to biology.

There is also a version 'B' of this module to be run in spring term. Version 'A' is not prerequisite for 'B' and vice versa.
