The module explores the politics of digital media culture. It provides a grounding in debates in feminist media studies to inform this. Issues may include: misogyny and sexism in digital culture; selfies, sexting and sexuality; new feminist movements and fan cultures; migration and mobiles. The module engages debates about intersectionality, post feminism, heterosexuality, racism, violence and sexism across a range of media forms including mainstream mass media forms and alternative media production.
