This module provides an opportunity for you to make use of the statistical techniques you may have learnt on the Statistics for Economists module. You will be required to submit a project based on your own research, having gathered your own data (either from primary or secondary sources). You will be able to choose a topic of interest to yourselves and will receive supervision during the course of the term.
Module learning outcomes
- Have demonstrated a systematic understanding of quantitative techniques appropriate to the study of economics or finance (as appropriate)
- Have displayed a knowledge of sources and content of economic information and data, and appreciate their use in research
- Have demonstrated the ability to carry out self-directed study and research, understand the limitations and be able to comment upon research outputs.
- Have learned to understand the importance of, and be able to construct, rigorous argument to help evaluate ideas, including those at the forefront of research.
