Non-UK EU students who come from low income families are eligible for a £3,000 fee waiver in their first year of study. This award is part of the National Scholarship Programme.
UK students are not eligible for this award, but are eligible for the First-Generation Scholars Scheme, more details can be found at:

Eligibility
Students must qualify for EU fee status, be joining undergraduate full-time programmes from the academic year 2012/13 onwards, and have a family income level validated by Student Finance England as below £25,000.
Procedure
Students wishing to be considered for the National Scholarship Programme should contact:

Please note that this process depends on you agreeing to share your family income information with the University, at the time you apply for government student support.
In March all students who are eligible for the award will be contacted by the Student Funding Team, and the fee waiver will be applied from that point.
Timetable
March 2014: Students eligible for the award will be notified and the fee waiver applied.
Students whose household income is assessed after this date will be contacted by email when the award is made.
June 2014: The last date an award will be processed will be 13 June 2014.
