Are you thinking about renting to University of Sussex students? If you are a landlord with a property suitable for student occupancy, which is in an area with good transport links to our University, we can help you in two ways.
Rent your property to our students
If you are interested in renting your property to Sussex students, we can offer you a range of services and help to ensure your property is occupied.
You may also be interested in head-leasing your property to the University. This means you can get property management and maintainence services, and guaranteed rent for 52 weeks of the year, at no extra cost.
Advertise your property for free
You can advertise your property (or a room in your property) for free, on a site exclusively for Sussex students.
If you are interested in registering with Sussex Studentpad, call the University’s Housing Services team on 01273 678219 to request a registration pack.
All registrations will need to be approved by the University, and a minimum of one good photograph of the relevant property will need to be provided before your property can appear on the website.
You must give as much detail about each property as you can in your application, and include copies of the relevant safety certificates.
The University also has a policy of visiting all new properties to ensure that they comply with our standards.

You can lease your property to the University, so that we manage your property including acting as the students' immediate landlord.
There are many benefits of head-leasing your property to the University of Sussex including:
- guaranteed rent for up to 52 weeks
- quality property management at no cost to you
- regular property cleaning, gardening and maintenance at no cost to you
- individual tenancy agreements between the student and the University
- unlike most Letting Agents, there are no fees or commission for landlords or students.
