1999-2000

All tables have been produced from student numbers as at 1st December 1999 (unless otherwise stated), all students considered to be in study at the University of Sussex on this date are included. Where figures are shown for undergraduates these include all first degree or full-time students studying at undergraduate level. Centre for Continuing Education part-time students (not at first degree level) are only included in tables specifically dedicated to CCE [PDF 17.33KB].

Important Note

Where the terms 'Home' and 'Overseas' are used in this document this relates to the student's fee status; 'Home' students are generally domiciled within the European Union (including UK); 'Overseas' students are those domiciled outside of the EU (this assumption is a guideline and exceptions do exist). The term 'domicile' is defined as location of permanent home address as at 1st December 1999. 'Nationality' is self-classified by the student on their application form.

Notes for Section 3

Those students listed as 'Out' were on compulsory/non-compulsory year abroad or sandwich placement as at 1st December 1999.

CCE figures are for first degree students only. The two CCE programmes listed run part-time for up to a six year period. Of the fourteen students shown under the Cultural Studies part-time degree, six are in their fifth or sixth year of the programme. This is also reflected in any 'Totals for the University'.

The categories 'Home' and 'Overseas' refer to the student's fee status.

Figures in the 'Domicile' reports reflect domicile (location of permanent home address) as at 1st December 1999.
