Rupert Wilkinson Scholarship Awards
The Ruper Wilkinson Scholarship Awards provides two scholarships for two single honours American Studies students. The first scholarship is in the amount of £5,000 which will be awarded to a single student. The second smaller award of £1,250 will be made to the runner-up.

Allaway Scholarship
Students who have been successfully allocated to study at one of the University of California campuses will receive this scholarship, which is paid normally at the beginning of the academic year.
Open to: American Studies students who have successfully been allocated to the University of California (no application required).

Dean’s Travel Bursaries
The Dean’s Travel Bursaries are for University of Sussex Business School students undertaking a Year Abroad or Semester Abroad. The bursary is £500 for destinations in Europe, and £1,000 for destinations outside of Europe.
Open to: University of Sussex Business School students only.
Applications: Students will be automatically assessed after applying for the Year Abroad or Semester Abroad, and applications will be jointly considered by the University of Sussex Business School and Sussex Abroad team. You may be asked to provide a statement of purpose at a later point in the process.

Butex Scholarships
Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or a whole academic year. The value of each scholarship is £500 and will be paid to winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.
Open to: All students due to go abroad in 2024/25

Open to: Various scholarships are open to students who are selected to attend one of our Global summer school programmes.
