Roads, access and other works

Path widening by BSMS and Sussex House

From the week of Monday 21 January, works will begin on widening pedestrian pathways by the junction outside the Brighton and Sussex Medical School teaching building, parallel to Sussex House car park (P4). This will also affect the corner of Biology Road car park (P3). This work will necessitate single-lane closures in stages throughout this two-week period.

Path implementation will also take place on the corner of Sussex House car park, running along the currently unpedestrianised space towards the entrance to the car park. This will not affect the Southern Ring Road or access to the car park, but will require single-lane closures outside Sussex House.

The Southern Ring Road and junction outside BSMS will remain open during these works.

Zebra crossing by Sussex House

Works continue on a new zebra crossing outside Sussex House, specifically between the entrance to Sussex House car park and the stairs down to Barclays, and are expected to last until the end of next week.

Single-lane closures will be in place outside Sussex House in parts while the crossing is marked. Access to Sussex House, the car park and the drop-off bay will not be affected; however, four bays will need to be closed in Sussex House car park.
