Car parking over Welcome Weekend (15 and 16 September)

On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September, the University will be welcoming new students to campus as they arrive to settle into their accommodation.

If you are driving to campus this weekend, please take note that the following parking restrictions will be in place.

Car parking for staff and current students will be restricted to Upper Arts car park (P7a).

Please do not attempt to park in any of the other campus car parks on Saturday or Sunday, as the space is needed for our new students and their families when they are unloading their belongings and then parking.

For more information please contact the Retention and Progression Manager, Melinda Lowing, on 01273 678865.

Campus Roads

Refectory Road:

From Monday 17 September, a long-term lane closure will be implemented on the section of Refectory Road adjacent to the East Slope Construction site. The flow of vehicles will be managed using traffic lights.  It is expected that the lane closure will be in place throughout the next academic year and beyond, while construction of the new student residences continues. There will be no pedestrian access on this section of Refectory Road, and pedestrians should use the newly improved pathway behind Kent House and Kulukundis House.

Other works

Plant vehicles continue to access the calcareous grassland site via the road through Northfield residences until late September. All vehicles accessing the site will be managed by banksmen and marshals, but please be mindful of this activity when driving or walking in the area.
