This year's international students' welcome party featured live music by local Latin band, Son Guarachando, as well as performances by the University's Folk Society and Swing Dance Society.

A 'pop-up' photo booth gave students the chance to strike a pose with the help of a range of comic props, and receive a Polaroid-style print as a souvenir of the evening.

Amongst the attendees was the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Mo Marsh; Students' Union President, Frida Gustafsson; and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adam Tickell, who gave a warm welcome speech to the new students.

Sara Dyer, Head of International Student Support, said: "Once again, students have joined us from more than 100 countries, and holding our celebrations at the beautiful Brighton Dome is a lovely way to welcome them to both the University and to our city."
