Postgraduate recruitment activity is an expanding area of our Student Recruitment Services portfolio. Our aim is to increase high quality applications and to improve applicant to student conversion rates. We offer support for both prospective postgraduate students as well as academic departments wishing to develop further their own resources and services for potential applicants.
Services for prospective students
Postgraduate Open Day
The annual Postgraduate open day is held in January and gives visitors an ideal opportunity to meet individually with faculty and gain more information about our wide range of taught postgraduate programmes and research opportunities. The Open Day includes a range of subject talks, presentations, workshops and campus tours.
Discover Postgraduate Study - advice sessions
We also run termly advice sessions for prospective students. These events include an introduction to postgraduate study, a Q&A panel discussion with current postgraduate students and a tour of the University. The sessions provide a useful insight into postgraduate study enabling applicants to make well-timed and effective applications for postgraduate study and funding.
Chatlive
We provide a range of opportunities for prospective applicants and applicants to register for online chats with both current postgraduate students and academics. Online chats take place between April and September each year.
Postgraduate Study and Training Fair
In addition to these campus-based and email services, we will represent the University at the UK's main postgraduate recruitment fair which takes place in London annually.
External and internal promotion of postgraduate study
We ensure that the current range of postgraduate promotional material, course information and funding opportunities in external directories and in internal print and websites is kept up-to-date on behalf of our academic departments.

Advertising
We provide advice to Schools on producing effective recruitment advertising, co-ordinating production via the University's approved advertising agency and ensuring that the advert meets the University's house style.
