The University has partnered with Blackbullion to provide helpful resources and guidance on a range of financial topics. BlackBullion is an easy-to-use online learning platform filled with short videos, articles and quizzes covering many financial subjects.

Before making a hardship or welfare application, why not sign up for the BlackBullion money management tool. It includes a simple Budget Calculator to help you plan your weekly or monthly budget and ensure you don’t run out of money.

Your options

Hardship Fund

You can apply for Hardship funding, which we provide with the help of generous donors.

This money is a grant we give to our students who are most in need.

Welfare Loan

You can request a Welfare Loan and receive up to £700.

This is money you must repay within a few weeks.

Graduation support

You can apply for financial support towards attending graduation. This will cover the cost of two guest tickets, gown hire and a basic photography package.

You can complete the form after you have received your graduation ceremony invitation. 


Claiming disability assessment costs

If you are a student with a specific learning difference (SpLD), such as dyslexia, you might be able to claim for the costs of an SpLD assessment.
