- HR in Excellence in Research
We retained an award for excellence in supporting researchers to develop their careers.
The HR in Excellence in Research Award recognises the measures the University takes to ensure great working conditions and career development opportunities for research staff. The University has now held this award for six years.
- Data storage
IT Services provides facilities for the storage of the large volumes of data that are often generated during the course of academic research. This year, we increased the capacity for research data storage by 60 per cent.
- Declaration on Research Assessment
We established a new Task and Finish group to implement the principles of the Declaration on Research Assessment, of which the University is a signatory.
The DORA aims to improve the ways in which scholarly research outputs are evaluated by funders, academic institutions and other parties.
- Record year for professors in global highly cited researchers list
The number of academics recognised in a global list of highly cited researchers has more than doubled from last year’s ranking to a record high.
Seven Sussex academics been recognised in the 2019 Highly Cited Researchers List, which recognises researchers who have produced multiple highly cited papers in the last decade.
