Postgraduate Research and Staff Research Ethics Review Process

If you need ethics approval for your research you must apply via the online ethics review system on Sussex Direct (Log in, then click on 'research' and then 'ethical reviews'.

Section A of the form has a checklist which will determine whether your application is low or high risk. Section B considers low risk applications and Section C considers high risk.

All PGR and staff applications requiring ethics review (both low and higher risk) are reviewed either by the Science and Technology Cross-School Research Ethics Committee (SCI-TEC C-REC) or the Social Sciences and Arts Cross-School Research Ethics Committee (SS-ARTS C-REC), depending on your school. Applications for ethics review are via the on-line ethics review system on Sussex Direct.
