Celebrating the contribution of migrants: Monday 20 February

On Monday 20 February, the contribution of migrants in the UK is being celebrated through ‘One Day Without Us’ – a national day of action that coincides with the UN World Day of Social Justice.

At 1.00 pm on Monday, people from inside and outside the EU and their supporters are taking part in a unifying action. People will be showing their support by posting selfies or pictures on social media using the hashtag #1DayWithoutUs.

As an international member of our staff community, would you be willing to be photographed doing your job?
If so, please email Internal Comms and we can capture a quick photo of you tomorrow (Friday 17 February) or on Monday morning (20 February)

You can take selfies individually before and after this time and post them with your personal messages of support. To help share it on Twitter you can use the hashtag #1DayWithoutUs and the handle @SussexUniStaff.

People are using lots of different methods to mark the day across the country - putting posters in windows, sharing meals, wearing badges, marching with placards. Whatever your nationality and place of origin; wherever you live and work, we invite you to make Monday a day of solidarity and celebration.
