Testing and reporting

For those staff who are working on campus please remember our onsite testing continues so you can get weekly tests.  This is to ensure our campus remains as safe a place to work as possible. If either test shows a positive result for Covid-19, you must self-isolate immediately.

If you do have Covid-19 symptoms or test positive please do continue to report this using the University’s online reporting webpage.

Managers’ ‘lunch and learn’ series

The Organisational Development team have launched a series of ‘lunch and learn’ sessions for managers. These are informative, interactive sessions on a range of topical issues. You can find out more and book your place.

Online wellbeing hub

We have made a few updates to our online wellbeing hub including a handy guide on ‘How to fit activity into your working day’, an informative guide on ‘Protecting and supporting your staff’s mental health- A line manager’s guide during the Coronavirus crisis’ an update on the Mental Health Staff Forum (MHSF) and a lot more, so do spend some time checking out the resources on there.

Supporting staff through lockdown

We want to remind staff of what measures we have put in place for those with caring responsibilities which can be requested at any time during the lockdown.

We are aware it is not only parents who are struggling, some colleagues live alone and the longer the current restrictions last, the harder this can be.

You can read more about how we are supporting staff during these times and also read our flexible working policy which allows staff to ask for reduced hours, compressed hours and unpaid leave to suit a variety of circumstances.

Resources for staff and managers

In addition we have provided staff with a range of tools and resources to help them during this time, including FAQs for staff, advice for managers - and remember all staff have free access to 24 hour support through the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and further support in our wellbeing hub. 

We also now have a Covid-19 webinar calendar with 30 minute lunchtime events provided by our EAP partners Care First.
