Major road resurfacing works in Stanmer Park

Students and staff are asked not to park in Stanmer Park.

Students and staff who drive to study or work at the University of Sussex are reminded not to park in Stanmer Park, next to the Sussex campus.

People accessing the park with vehicles face major disruption in November, as work gets under way on the final construction stages of the Stanmer Park Restoration Project.

From Monday 2 to Monday 16 November, road resurfacing is scheduled at several key locations in the park.

Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) say there will be limited access to designated public car parks in Stanmer Park during these two weeks.

The Lower Lodges entrance, near to the Sussex campus, will be closed for several days to traffic. Road access through and around the T-junction by the church and in the area by Stanmer House will also be disrupted by closures or diversions.

The city council advise visitors, including University of Sussex students and staff accessing Stanmer Park by bike or on foot, to take particular care during the works – observing road closures, diversions and other signage, and staying clear of roadworks.
