Volunteers for the University’s latest community street clean spruced up a local street in Moulsecoomb yesterday (Wednesday 16 May). The team spent the day sweeping, clearing and tidying Barcombe Road with help from City Clean staff from the council.

In addition, Horstead Garden Services volunteered their time to help install bedding plants around the ‘Welcome to Moulsecoomb’ sign and tidy the pathway leading down to the bus stop.

Lucy Walker, Housing Officer, said: "The clean-up was a real success. We spoke with a number of residents through the day and received positive feedback on the efforts of the volunteers and Horstead Garden Services. They were particularly pleased with the addition of the bedding plants and clearing the pathway down to the bus stop. I’d like to thank all of the volunteers who took park and Horstead Garden Services."

In the past two years, volunteers have also tidied Viaduct Road, Beaconsfield Road, Washington Street, Riley Road and St Martins Place.
