Overwhelmed by pensions? You don't have to be

Tracey Llewellyn, Pensions Manager

Are you a bit lost when it comes to understanding your pension or the options available to you?

You’re not alone! Trying to grasp the world of pensions can sometimes feel overwhelming… but it doesn’t have to be.

Pensions are important no matter if you’re just starting out in your career or nearing the end of it. And if you’re like most people, learning just a little bit more and knowing your options can make you a lot more confident that you’re on the right track.

To help you get a good grip on your pension and all those lingering questions you’ve never dared ask, we’ll be holding a series of pension workshops, just for you. These workshops will cover everything you want to know, from what the pension scheme is, to your options and what’s new. If you have a question, this is where you will get the answer.

Starting this week, a number of sessions will be taking place in November for members of several of the University’s pension schemes. You may receive an email invitation to an event that is relevant to you and your scheme – please search your inbox for an email from the HR Pensions Team. If you haven’t been sent an email this month don’t worry – we’ll be hosting more sessions next year for members of other pension schemes.

We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to understand your options so that you can have confidence in the choices you are making.

In the meantime, if you have any queries about your pension please don't hesitate to contact me.
