Clare Mackie to be DVC

Professor Clare Mackie

Professor Clare Mackie, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning), is to be Deputy Vice-Chancellor from 1 August.

During her one-year tenure, Professor Mackie will be a member of Council (the University's governing body) and will deputise for the Vice-Chancellor in his absence.

The formal role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor, required under University statute, is held by each Pro-Vice-Chancellor in turn on an annual basis. They continue to carry out their other, normal duties while performing the role.

Professor Mackie will follow Professor Chris Marlin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), who has been Deputy Vice-Chancellor since August 2011.
