Biography

Chantal Naidoo is a doctoral researcher and guest lecturer in Climate Finance at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex. Her research relates to the role of financial systems in sustainability transitions processes, national development banks, financing strategies for climate action and rethinking finance theories for sustainability. Her geographic scope is the Global South, specifically Africa and Latin America. She has private and public finance experience in South Africa and the United States practising in various professional roles at audit firms, investment banks and development finance institutions. Chantal supports policymakers across Africa to access climate finance and consults for global policy thinktanks, multilateral and bilateral development institutions on matters related to her research.
