My current research looks at the relationships between the rationales for innovation policy, the different ways in
which the state may seek to share the risks and rewards from innovation with the private sector, and the legal underpinning of these arrangements. The theoretical framework that I am developing combines literature on political economy, the economics of innovation, institutions and the law.
Before coming to SPRU, I have worked as a research assistant on science, technology and innovation policies at the United Nations' Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN-ECLAC), in Chile. I have also worked for a couple of years as a coordination assistant at the School of Government and Public Administration of the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, offering support to the development and implementation of training courses for civil servants at a wide range of positions.
