Smart Energy Transition seminar in Helsinki

Dr Paula Kivimaa is co-organising a research seminar on innovation policy, climate policy and energy transitions as part of the Smart Energy Transition (SET) project. The seminar will take place at Aalto University in Helsinki on 17 February and is open to all researchers and other experts working in these areas.

Speakers at the event will include several members of SPRU; Professor Johan Schot, Dr Phil Johnstone, Dr Karoline Rogge and Dr Paula Kivimaa, all of whom work on the SET project.

Johan Schot will give a talk on ‘Transformative innovation policy and the role of users’ as part of the first session on innovation policy, climate policy and energy transitions. The second session will focus on large countries in energy and policy transition and feature presentations from Phil Johnstone and Paula Kivimaa on ‘Disruption, (dis)continuities and policy interactions in UK energy production and demand’ and from Karoline Rogge on ‘German energy transition and policy’. The third and final session on ‘SET project – What is smart energy disruption, how does it impact Finland & how to facilitate it?’ will be chaired by Paula Kivimaa.

‘This seminar is part of the launch activities of the Smart Energy Transition project funded by the Strategic Research Council of the Academy of Finland. We’re excited to kick this off as the project not only researchers energy transition and disruptive technologies but aims to facilitate it by actively engaging with a range of stakeholders and setting up a transition arena during the process to deliver impact’ said Paula.

Please register to attend the workshop.
