Security expert presents at EU Non-Proliferation Consortium

On  8 July Dr James Revill spoke at the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the EU Non-Proliferation Consortium. He gave a presentation on the issue of compliance with the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) in which he outlined the importance of the EU in biological disarmament. He also emphasized the valuable role the EU could play in the forthcoming BWC Review Conference with regards to moving the convention forward.

The meeting, held in Brussels on 7-8 July, was attended by a range of government representatives and academics. The aim of the meeting was to provide an opportunity to discuss ideas that can feed into the EU’s work on non-proliferation and disarmament.

Dr Revill is a Research Fellow at SPRU and a researcher at HSP, an inter-university collaboration for research, communication and training in support of informed public policy towards chemical and biological weapons.
