Apply now for sports coaching vacancies at the University

Sussexsport works with the Students’ Union to provide a packed club sports programme. Our student sports clubs compete in the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues, playing weekly competitive fixtures across the country during term time.

We have a number of part-time/sessional vacancies for talented coaches to work with our student sports clubs.

The roles are open to current Sussex staff and students who fit the eligibility criteria and we welcome enquiries and applications from the campus community.

University of Sussex Head Netball Coach and Assistant Coach

To develop the University's Netball offer, deliver 1st and 2nd team training sessions and oversee matches in BUCS. Training is on Mondays and Thursdays 8pm-10pm at the University of Sussex Sport CentreMatches are on Wednesday afternoons (attendance at these is desirable). Rates of pay vary from £18.92 to £24.24 dependent on qualifications and experience. A minimum of a Level 1 Netball qualification is required for this role. 

University of Sussex Rugby - Men's 2nd and 3rd teams

To develop the University's Rugby offer, deliver team training sessions and oversee matches in BUCS. Training is on Mondays 7pm-9pm and Fridays 7pm-9pm at the University of Sussex Falmer Sports ComplexMatches are on Wednesday afternoons (attendance at these is desirable). Rates of pay vary from £18.92 to £24.24 dependent on qualifications and experience. A minimum of a Level 1 Rugby coaching qualification is required for this role. 

University of Sussex Hockey Coaches - Men’s 1st and 2nd teams; Women’s 2nd and 3rd teams

To develop the University's hockey offer, deliver training sessions and oversee matches in BUCS. Training is on Mondays (6pm-8pm Women's and 8pm-10pm Men's) at the University of Sussex Falmer Sports ComplexMatches are on Wednesday afternoons (attendance at these is desirable). Rates of pay vary from £18.92 to £24.24 dependent on qualifications and experience. Candidates will need to have suitable skills and experience, holding a minimum of an Introduction to Hockey Coaching qualification.
