The Sport Centre and Falmer Sports Complex are available to hire for conferences and events.
The Sport Centre has two large halls and a dance studio, which can be carpeted if required. They provide an ideal venue for exhibitions, sports courses, fitness forums and general events.
The Sport Centre also has a meeting room for hire. This room can be booked by contacting Neil Linstrem on N.J.Linstrem@sussex.ac.uk
The Falmer Sports Complex is situated in 40 acres of playing fields and is an ideal venue in the summer for holding sports days and outdoor tournaments. It has a full size floodlit astro turf pitch and a variety of grass areas that can be used for a number of sports. It also has a large café bar and clubroom facility which can be booked via the Catering Office. Conference rates are as follows:
Sport Centre charges and dimensions
- Hall one (36.6m x 18.3m [670 sq metres]) £1,000 per day + £250 one-off fee for carpet tiles
- Hall two (29.8m x 18.5m [551 sq metres]) £825 per day + £250 one-off fee for carpet tiles
- Dance studio (14.5m x 9.1m [132 sq metres]) £200 per day + £60 one-off fee for carpet tiles
- Squash courts (9.72m x 6.41m [62 sq metres])
All charges are based on £1.50 per square metre. The rate for laying and taking up of the carpet tiles will be charged at half a day's hall hire ie £500 for Hall one etc. Any additional requirements may need to be negotiated
Sporting events
Charges for sporting events are usually negotiated. However, the prices below are used as a guideline.
- Hire of either of the sports halls - £500 per day.
- Exclusive use of the Sport Centre - £1500 per day.
