User Statistics

The following graphs were generated during the months of September 2008 and February 2009 to illustrate the activity taking place within the SPLASH platform. They examine the following:

September 2008

General Logins
Student/Staff logins

As illustrated by both statistical data outputs, the end of September 2008 sees a large spike in activity of users logging into the SPLASH platform, to investigate the site. The Freshers Fair raised this awareness, particularly because all of the jam labels retaining the URL of the SPLASH site. There is a continuing level of activity post September 2008, however these tend to fluctuate around an approximate number of users to the end of 2008.

Top Widgets

It is interesting to note here that one of the most used widgets is FaceBook. BBC News has a large take up amongst users (this being added as a default), with custom RSS feeds featuring quite high.

February 2009

General Logins
Student/Staff logins

Looking at the 2009 login statistics clearly illustrate a relatively average amount of user login and activity within the site. Obviously, there is a lack of interactivity within the site during the major holiday periods, but this rectifies itself back to an average peak thereafter, (Dec 08). It is considered post the launch of the new University of Sussex intranet and externally facing sites, that user login and activity within SPLASH will increase markedly due to the front facing nature of the SPLASH platform.

Top Widgets

By February 2009, the Study Direct and RSS feeds have both increased in their usage. Considering more active PILOT group interaction within the SPLASH platform and awareness having improved via various academic departments, this is not surprising.
