Tuesday 31 October 17:30 until 18:30
The Keep, Woollards Way, Falmer BN1 9BP
Speaker: Local author Ros Black
Part of the series: What's on at The Keep

Sussex-born Grace Kimmins founded The Guild of Play, The Guild of the Brave Poor Things and the craft schools for disabled children at Chailey, now known as Chailey Heritage. Local author Ros Black has made extensive use of archive material at The Keep to research her biography of Kimmins, and this illustrated talk covers her early work in the slums of London as well as her pioneering work at Chailey and its marine annex at Tidemills, near Seaford. All proceeds from the sale of Ros’s book, which will be available at the talk, go to Chailey Heritage Foundation.
