Skylar's Wall
Karl Kasparis

Giving children the opportunity to communicate their emotions.

Skylar's Wall is a multi gender targeted wall panel aimed at 3-6 year olds. It enables children the ability to identify, communicate and learn about emotions. Sharon Smithson, Jake, Hannah, Oliver, Holly have all been patients of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Their stories, their struggles are what inspired me to create Skylar's Wall. The design was made based on my theory of designed instruction, providing children the ability to understand how the game is to be played simply based on the form and shape of the product. The graphics and appearance are based on various art themes and movements that coincide with the overall metaphors of exploring emotions, these representations are present and refined in small details noticeable on the product. Skylar's wall also offers the opportunity for product and brand expansion through the various individual characters and the stories they present.
