By 2025 over half of all people living in developing countries will be highly vulnerable to flooding

Geographical isolation is the main problem in providing disaster relief to the developing world. Isolation causes difficulties in the logistical mobilisation of important resources such as electricity and rescue equipment often leading to inadequate assistance.

It has been recognised through research there is need for a product that can provide small scale, high value power for rescue, relief and rehabilitation as well as helping to store, protect and transport resources to the right places effectively.

The Solar Vessel is a modular, mobile PV generator set designed for disaster mitigation in developing countries. It is designed to be capable of acting both dynamically through the transportation of resources and statically as a long term functional architectural system, providing power for the rehabilitation of communities.

Capable of generating self-sustaining long term power through the use of solar panels it can be put to use for many tasks such as water pumping, communications, or medical aid. The product can carry a large array of equipment and is sized specifically to be able to transport and charge electrically powered flood rescue boats.
