Project Description: The WiFi sound is a Wireless High Fidelity Sound System. It eliminates the need for long cables, commonly found trailing from a laptop as it is moved around a room, and so is designed to give freedom to where music is listened to and controlled from. The system utilizes audio over IP distribution, and so can receive audio directly from a network connected device such as a laptop, without the need for any additional cables or adapters, making use of the wireless networking ability that most modern laptops/devices poses. It has several modes of operation: 1) Acts as conventional computer speakers, plays every sound from the desktop. 2) Can play audio from an MP3 library, controlled through a web browser (from any device) 3) Can stream Internet radio stations
Progress: The Networking and Software systems are now complete and functional. Currently the cabinet design and sound frequency response are undergoing testing and development
