The project was to design a device that assists Skiers to carry a pair of skis. One of the most common problems for both beginner and advanced skiers is that they struggle to carry skis comfortably and securely. As skis are long and awkward to carry they become unstable, very often the skis separate and become uncontrollable which can cause accidents. Carrying skis over your shoulder and wearing ski boots can often cause the person to become unbalanced and also cause ripping to clothing. The project investigated the ways in which skis are carried, to provide the best possible design solution to assist a skier to carry skis.

The SkiEasy S-Ball product is a fully intergrated carrying device that has all the components attached and stored within the product. One half of the SkiEasy S-Ball seperates to grip around the central part of a pair of skis, with a securing strap. The skis are then carried by pulling out the retractable straps coiled up inside the product. Once these straps have been passed over the users shoulder, the snap buckles are then clipped into the sockets in the underside of the product. The sponge back half of the product helps to improve comfortability to the user. Once the product is no longer in use, the straps are reeled back into the product and as the product is no larger than a small coffee cup it will fit comfortably into your pocket.
